| Often a corporate
facility will have built up a collection of artwork over a period of
time. The scope of the accumulated work can be strictly decorative
or considered an investment of fine art. Sometimes this art is moved
around from one space to another within the corporation. An inventory
program is advisable for several reasons. |
* The
company can have a record of the artwork that belongs to them. This
can be accomplished by documenting the image visually both digitally and in
print form.
* By inventorying the artwork, placement identification can be applied to the
image in situations where the art is moved around. This is helpful in locating the
art at a specific time or re-installing the artwork after a move or renovation.
* Maintaining pertinent information about the artworks and keeping visual
records is often necessary for insurance coverage. |
