Group can provide the correct framing, mounting and
matting of designated pieces, considering both the artworks and the
décor. Framing has a multitude of applications, and the choice of frame
molding are so vast, too numerous to mention here, from metal section
to hand painted gold leaf, etc. The following are just a few basic guidelines: |
Posters and Reproduction Images
Often dry mounted and framed in metal section, natural wood or acrylic.
Matted with assorted mat board, if desired, using various techniques.
Glass or plexiglass. |
Limited Edition Prints, Unique Works on Paper, and Photography
Due to their intrinsic value these artworks are almost always matted
differently and according to the work itself, though certain professional
standards always apply. We recommend, for conservation purposes, that
only acid-free materials be allowed to come in contact with the artwork.
We advise that artwork not come directly in contact with the glass or
plexiglas. |
Paintings and Tapestries
Some original works in these categories do not require framing. If framing
is desired, a variety of liners and moldings can be selected, from
metal strip frames to carved gilded wood frames. Tapestries can be
mounted in a plexi box, or mounted and framed, as well as draped over
a wooden dowel. Here again many creative alternatives are available. |
Reframing
Existing artwork presents the option of remounting, rematting, reframing,
refitting and reglazing the image. These techniques can be used for
the purpose of conservation of the image or if a piece has been damaged.
Reframing can often add a new look and perspective to decorative
and valuable work. For clients where budgetary restraints may be an
issue, reframing and redistributing the client's artwork offers a fresh
look achieved at minimal cost. |
